Ribbed leggings

Your most frequently asked questions about textured velvet leggings

  • Brushed velvet leggings (also called textured or crushed velvet) are distinguished by their smooth, slightly irregular surface that subtly catches the light. They are lighter, more flexible, and contain more elastane, giving them an ultra-soft feel and great freedom of movement.

The corduroy leggings feature raised vertical ribs. Denser and more structured, they offer firmer support with their integrated high-waisted elastic and a more polished look.

    In summary:

    • Brushed velvet = soft, light, luminous, versatile
    • Corduroy = structured, dense, graphic, sophisticated
  • The most important measurement is your hip circumference (the widest part). Take your measurements with your legs slightly apart (approximately 10 cm).

    Our advice:

    • Refer to your usual trouser size as a starting point.
    • Check out our detailed size guide with video
    • If you are between sizes and prefer a slimming effect: choose the smaller size
    • If you prefer more comfort and ease: choose the next size up

Brushed velvet is naturally soft and adapts well to your body shape. If you have any doubts, please don't hesitate to contact us with your measurements; we'll be happy to advise you!

  • Caring for brushed velvet is simple if you follow these tips:

    • Washing : Machine wash at 30°C maximum, delicate cycle
    • Always inside out : To protect the velvet surface
    • With similar colors : Avoid mixing with white or very light colors
    • No tumble drying : Air dry flat or on a hanger
    • No fabric softener : Velvet remains naturally soft, and fabric softener damages the fibers of the garments.
    • Ironing if necessary : At a low temperature (110°C max) and always on the reverse side

Our Italian velvet is designed to retain its softness and luster even after numerous washes. The quality of the fiber makes all the difference!

  • Yes, absolutely! The brushed velvet leggings are perfect for sports thanks to:

    • Its superior elasticity : ideal for yoga, Pilates, dance, or any activity requiring a wide range of motion
    • Its technical Italian fabric : breathable and moisture-wicking
    • Its high waist without elastic : it doesn't compress and stays in place during exercise
    • Its lightness : allows you to move freely without feeling heavy

It is particularly suitable for gentle yoga, stretching, Pilates, barre, and even for your moderate muscle strengthening sessions.

  • Brushed velvet offers soft, temperature-regulating warmth , ideal for autumn and winter. However, it is lighter than corduroy, making it comfortable even in the mid-seasons.

Our recommendations according to the seasons:

    • Autumn/Winter : Perfect! Pair it with an oversized sweater or sweatshirt for a cozy look.
    • Spring : Ideal for cool mornings and evenings, with a light top
    • Summer : Best suited for indoor use or yoga studios

Its breathable material prevents overheating, unlike some low-end velvets.

  • Brushed velvet beautifully reveals colors thanks to its luminous shades. Here are our recommendations based on your color season:

    • Winter Colorimetry : Deep Black, Intense Purple, Intense Green, Powder Pink
    • Summer color palette : Powder pink, electric blue, mint green, cool colors
    • Autumn color palette : Golden ochre, intense green, warm and deep tones
    • Spring Colorimetry : Powder pink, bright purple, light and warm colors

About Us

Our velvet expertise

For several years, I have been designing velvet leggings by working directly with the fabric: its reaction to movement, its shape memory, and its stability over time. The velvet I use is an Italian technical velvet, chosen for its controlled elasticity, density, and durability, even after repeated wear.

Each style is tested on a mannequin to achieve a high waist that provides support without constricting, a smooth front, and a fluid silhouette. Manufacturing takes place in France, in a workshop specializing in stretch fabrics, guaranteeing the precision of assembly essential to velvet.

This demanding fabric requires real expertise: pile direction, texture, light, behavior under tension. These parameters completely influence the final result.

It is this work of adjustment — from the choice of velvet to movement testing — that transforms a simple velvet legging into a comfortable, durable and flattering piece.
